The Inspectorate General of Finance (IGF) is defending former Infrastructure Minister Pedro Nuno Santos and former Infrastructure Minister Hugo Méndez in an examination of the €500,000 compensation TAP paid to Alexandra Reis.
As the CM found out, in the conclusions of the preliminary audit report, the IGF makes a kind of purge of the intervention of Pedro Nuno Santos and Hugo Mendez in this process: although the Ministry of Infrastructure, then headed by these former governors, did not inform the Ministry of Finance or the public shareholder of the financial compensation paid to the former administrator of TAP and former Minister of Finance, the IGF makes no recommendations for the future on the procedure that political leaders should take in this type of operation.
