Three friends have won a £1 million prize, around €1,100,000, six years after they formed a group to play the national lottery in Wales.
Alex Gwynn, 28, Dan Phillips, 25, and Kyle Bowen were all attending Merthyr Tydfil College when they decided to get together and form a lottery group after several friends won £5,000, about €5,600. At that time, the teacher joked about the situation and encouraged the young people to form their own group.
Six years later, Gwynn bought tickets to a special draw on February 3rd on behalf of the band. The young man says he was “overwhelmed” when he realized that he and his friends were winners.
Young people plan to use the money for investments in the future. “We’re all starting to calm down and make long-term plans for the future, a little different from where we were when we started the band, that’s for sure,” Gwynn said. BBC.
