Ryan Griffiths, a 32-year-old woman, died hours after texting her family she was in hospital.
According to MirrorRyan, originally from North Wales but based in Manchester, was admitted to hospital after visiting A&E. The woman sent a photo to her family with the caption: “Yes, I’m staying here tonight.”
Unfortunately, this was the last message he sent. A few hours later, the family received a call from the hospital saying that the woman was not responding. He had gone into cardiac arrest and died.
“We got to the hospital and they were still treating her, then they told us she had died. We couldn’t believe it,” the sister said.
Ryan had been to hospital and GP several times and suffered from shortness of breath and a racing heart for more than a year. The family say they were told the symptoms were likely stress-related and that they were continuing to live normal lives.
The family now knows the woman suffered from an undiagnosed heart condition called myocarditis, which can weaken the heart muscle and increase the risk of deadly complications including heart attack and stroke.
