Last week, the National Republican Guard (GNR) tested more than 41,000 drivers for the use of seat belts and child restraint systems.
In a statement, the GNR specified that the RoadPol inspection operation, conducted from March 6 to 12 on the mainland, covered 41,217 drivers and recorded 754 administrative offenses.
Misuse or absence of seat belts accounted for 680 of these violations, while absence or misuse of seat belts and/or child restraint systems accounted for 74 offenses during the Territorial Command and National Transit Unity military inspection period. (UNT).
At the start of the inspection operation, GNR explained that the goal of the initiative is to improve road safety and enforcement of traffic rules. In 2022, according to this security service, 20,292 violations were checked due to the absence or misuse of seat belts and child restraint systems.
The operation was carried out as part of the European Traffic Police Network (RoadPol), an organization set up by traffic police in Europe with the aim of improving road safety and enforcement of traffic rules. GNR became a member of RoadPol at the end of 2021.
