Judicial police have been called to investigate the death of an 83-year-old man found this Wednesday inside an irrigation tank in the parish of Deocriste in Viana do Castelo, a GNR source said.
Contacting the Lusa news agency, a source at the GNR Territorial Command Viana do Castelo said the man was cutting a vineyard located next to a reservoir where he would eventually be found lifeless.
The same source said that the court was called to “discuss any intervention by a third party in the man’s death.”
The body was removed from the tank, used to irrigate farmland, and taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IML) in Viana do Castelo.
The alarm was announced at 11:49.
Nine operators and four vehicles from Viana do Castelo Sapadores, Red Cross, INEM and GNR firefighters arrived on the scene.
