Support, up to a maximum of 200 euros per month, will be paid retroactively from January of this year. The measure will be in effect for five years, a period of time during which the government estimates the housing market will stabilize.
António Costa also stressed that the support varies “depending on the income of the family, as well as the amount of income.”
Measure passed to force banks to have a fixed rate on home loans
The Prime Minister stated this at a press conference after a meeting at which some measures of the housing package were approved.
