A PSP agent accused of killing a young woman in São João da Madeira during a police approach has been sentenced by a Feira court to two years’ suspended prison for the crime of negligence.
A PSP agent is suspected of having fatally shot driver’s partner Andre Oliveira (known as Andre “The Pirate”) from a hidden car. The car was stolen while the defendant was driving to the Pastelleira area in Porto to buy drugs.
André “The Pirate” was sentenced in the same trial to three years in prison for the crime of theft and the crime of resisting and coercing an employee. The case dates back to the night of September 24, 2020, when PSP agents intercepted André “the pirate” who was trying to steal a car on the streets of São João da Madeira, ordering him to stop.
The panel of judges understood that the PSP agent had used the firearm for other purposes, but did not show gross negligence.
