The Welsh coastal town of Tenby is being infested by ‘cat-sized rats’, according to several frightened residents.
According to the newspaper daily mail, rats damage rocks along the coast. Roger Miles, one of the residents, said the problem was getting worse. “At dusk and early in the morning, rats are everywhere,” Miles said.
“A big concern is the structural damage they could cause to the rock,” another local resident Derek Brown told British television. BBC quoted daily mail.
Mayor Sam Skyrme-Blackhall said he is “taking action” and helping set up dozens of traps to get rid of the rodents.
representative Pembrokeshire Council in Wales reported that “are aware of the rodent problem” and are working to address the problem. However, they advised the residents not to feed the birds or drop food so as not to attract more rats.
