Hundreds of teachers protest on the April 25 bridge

Several hundred teachers gathered on the Pragal Viaduct, next to the April 25 Bridge, to protest in defense of the public school.

The meeting, organized by the Missão Escola Pública movement, began around 6:23 pm, the symbolic hour that marks six years, six months and 23 days of frozen time that teachers are demanding to be restored.

Further down, at the exit of the April 25 Bridge, where traffic continued with the usual rush hour restrictions, the drivers hooted a timid horn to the demonstrators.

At 7:00 pm, the protesters moved towards Cristo Rei, and along the way, teachers chanted slogans already known to everyone after several months of protest, such as “United School will never be defeated”, “No Stops”. and “Costa, listen, the school is struggling.”
