The Maritime and Naval Police, together with the Air Force, detained a speedboat loaded with about three tons of hashish off the coast of the Algarve this morning.
The operation “captured a fast ship and 77 bales of drugs, as well as more than two and a half tons of hashish,” the Portuguese Navy said in a statement.
In accordance with cm Once discovered, the high-speed craft was found by the Air Force about 70 miles offshore, equivalent to almost 129 kilometers.
NCIS and Marines approached the scene, and three men were arrested on suspicion of drug dealing.
77 packages of drugs were taken to the port of Faro and subsequently handed over to the judicial police.
