Passenger accused airline employees of opening a bottle of whiskey worth more than 500 euros

A man traveling on a United Airlines flight said a sealed bottle of whiskey he carried in his luggage upon boarding was opened by someone other than him, the paper said. Independent.

In a post on his official Twitter account, Chrisfer Ambler pointed to the airline’s page and shared a photo of a bottle of whiskey. Highland Bonding, Glenmorangie edition of “A Tale of Cake”, valued at around £449.95 (€511) when opened. The message reads: “Hi United. An expensive Scotch bottle in checked baggage arrived open and a third was missing. It was sealed upon packaging and opened upon arrival. Your movers are thieves.”

In response to the post, United Airlines said it was “sorry” about the situation and suggested that the passenger file a complaint: “We recommend that you contact the Baggage Resolution Center.”

The airline then asked Christopher for a travel confirmation number as well as a baggage claim number so they could resolve the incident.

Several comments appeared on social networks under the publication. Among them, the user warns of the added value of having travel insurance in situations like this.
