The re-qualification of the PSP police station in Matosinhos will be open this Monday, but the elevator is no longer working. cm Paulo Santos, President of the Union of Professional Police Officers (ASPP/PSP). The leader of the trade union claims that the air conditioners at this station are also turned off, since when they are turned on, the electrical panel is turned off.
“The minister is tired of announcing investments in equipment, but this is our everyday life. For example, in the Valadaris police station, in Vila Nova de Gaia, the air conditioning has not been working for more than a year, there are broken doors and a faulty boiler,” says Paulo Santos KM.
Regarding the PSP of Matosinhos, a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of the Interior and the Chamber of Matosinhos was signed in July 2019. The €1.2 million contract began in December 2020 and was completed in the first quarter of last year, but only this year. On Monday it will be opened by the Minister of the Interior.
This Monday, José Luis Carneiro will also sign a loan agreement between the Chamber of Matosinhos and the National Republican Guard for the installation of Matosinhos’ GNR Territorial Detachment. It was pre-installed over 30 years ago at the Quinta da Conceição mansion in Lesa da Palmeira, in a building with a “risk of collapse” that was identified by civil protection. GNR is to relocate to the former Biquinha School, where the PSP was installed during work on the police station, which will now be reopened. The future greenfield GNR facilities are to be built on the site of an old garden between Avenida Mario Brito (EN107) and the Freixeiro TIR terminal, as reported by CM last October.
