On Tuesday, MSF rescued 440 migrants from a fishing boat in international waters off Malta. According to Reuters, the operation lasted about 11 hours, taking into account adverse weather conditions.
The association knew that these people were in danger on a crowded boat for four days. It is known that in the last two cases they will pass without food and drink.
Migrants from Pakistan, Syria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Somalia and Sri Lanka.
Doctors Without Borders explained that the migrants were taken to the southeastern Italian port of Brindisi. However, around 100 will be handed over to the Italian Coast Guard and brought ashore elsewhere.
