The Institute for Urban Housing Rehabilitation (IHRU) will draw 27 homes for permanent residence in various regions of the country as part of public awareness campaigns for affordable rent, it was announced this Wednesday.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Housing, 27 T1 to T5 houses will be awarded in Almada, Beja, Cascais, Lisbon, Montijo, Porto, Santarem, Santiago do Casem, Vila Nova de Gaia and Vila Real.
“Houses will be randomly selected from individuals and households that have applied by April 28, provided they meet the conditions for participation in the program and the notification requirements of each tender,” explains the Ministry of Housing.
According to the ministry, the initiative is part of a set of “housing solutions provided by IHRU to ensure access to housing for families who do not have an answer in the market.”
A press release from the Ministry of Housing also states that “bids open on 3 April” and that “interested persons will be able to find all information about tenders to date at ihruarrenda.portaldahabitacao.pt”.
