A tobacconist was robbed and kidnapped outside a cafe in Almargem do Bispo, Sintra, this Wednesday morning.
The man was attacked with firearms in the head and back by a group of robbers whose faces were covered after leaving the cafe. The suspects placed the victim in a van, where they threatened the driver.
The robbers were unable to break into the van’s safe, but stole change and cigarettes. After the robbery, they drove about a thousand meters and left the man, who had already been robbed twice this year, in an open field.
The suspects are still on the run and have thrown packs of tobacco on the ground because the door of the tobacco van was still open when they fled. GNR collects evidence on the spot.
