A 15-year-old boy has been placed in closed custody at an educational center after the PSP convicted him of drug trafficking in Ribeira Grande in the Azores, the police’s regional command said this Thursday.
The PSP statement explained that “a minor was discovered late in the day in a re-enactment area without proper supervision” in that municipality on San Miguel Island with approximately 200 individual doses of the drug.
“He was found to have a narcotic substance, a total of more than 166 individual doses of hashish, more than 25 individual doses of an unidentified product, with a strong suspicion that it was cocaine, in addition to 95 euros in monetary terms, with suspicion of the practice of this illegal act” , describes the PSP.
Subsequently, the juvenile was handed over to the parent and both were subpoenaed by the Family and Juvenile Court of Ponta Delgada.
“The record of wrongdoing was drawn up under the Custody of Education Act and sent to the Court for Family and Juvenile Affairs, where, after due consideration by the distinguished judge of this court, the minor was placed under guardianship in the form of internment in a closed regime,” the message says.
