In celebration of April 25, concerts for every taste

In the year that marks the 49th anniversary on April 25, this weekend is a holiday. From the north to the south of the country, according to tradition, music takes to the streets to remember the revolution that returned freedom of speech and in the course of
what kind of democracy was implemented in Portugal.

Concerts for all tastes with free admission (see infographic on the side), as well as many other parallel cultural and entertainment events that promise to make our country’s cultural calendar even richer next week.

In Coimbra, for example, student struggles are commemorated at the Convento de São Francisco with the exhibition “Student Sources: From the Crisis of 1962 to 25 April”. In the atrium of the São Bento station in Porto is the Olhares de Abril, which displays the work of the photographers who covered the revolution in 1974.

In the old courtyard of Boa Ora in Lisbon, the archive of ephemera created by the historian José Pacheco Pereira features posters, emblems, stickers, postcards, banners, ashtrays, plates and records, testimonies of various political parties born after the 25th of April, in an exhibition titled “Signs of Liberty”.
