According to source S.A fire is raging at “some intensity” in the sub-regional civil defense emergency operations command of the Porto Metropolitan Region, with no casualties reported. The fire “completely consumed” the Volkswagen workshop, Luce added a source from the Sub-Regional Office of the Porto Metropolitan Area.
National Road (EN) 14 has been closed to traffic since 5:47 p.m., fire alarm time, civil protection and GNR sources said. Traffic is diverted through the interior of Santa Maria de Avioso for those heading towards Trofa and back at Carrick Junction towards the Mayan industrial estate, a Guarda source said.
The fire brigades of Pedrusos, Moreira da Maya, Matosinhos, Lesa and Leixos are on site, 33 in total, supported by 12 vehicles, according to the civil protection page.
