Lula da Silva addresses the war in Ukraine in the Assembly of the Republic: “We must talk about peace”

This Tuesday marks the 49th anniversary of April 25th. The date will be celebrated in Parliament with a regular ceremonial session following the welcoming ceremony for Brazilian President Lula da Silva.

The participation of the Brazilian head of state caused heated controversy, leading Chega to announce a demonstration against Lula’s trip to parliament. In addition to the protest organized by André Ventura’s party, three other concentrations are planned near the Assembly of the Republic.

The formal session will begin at 11:30 am and eight speeches are expected from the eight parties holding seats in parliament, in ascending order of representation.
