Climate activists occupied the Faculty of Lisbon University of Lisbon (FLUL) this Thursday. End Fossil Occupy members set up tents and camped at FLUL facilities to demand the end of fossil fuels by 2030 and 100% renewable and affordable electricity for all by 2025.
This protest joins others that this movement has carried out in recent days at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Lisbon and at the high schools of Don Luis de Gusmão, Porto, and Tomás Cabreira, Faro.
In November, the movement had already occupied FLUL, prompting director Miguel Tamén to call the police, who took and detained four activists for the crime of civil disobedience. The students were then presented to a judge and sentenced to a fine of 295 euros each.
