Several hundred activists closed the Antonio Arroyo school in Lisbon on Tuesday, starting a new class at the school in protest against the climate, initiated by the Fim ao Fóssil: Ocupa! movement.

From today, young people must also occupy the Lyceum Camões, the Faculty of Fine Arts, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the New University, all in Lisbon, as well as the Faculty of Arts in Coimbra and the Faculty of Arts in Porto.
Shouting slogans, students are demanding to stop using fossil fuels by 2030 and switch to 100% renewable and affordable electricity by 2025, just like last year’s protests with the closure of some schools in Lisbon.
Since last Wednesday, young activists have been holding protests against climate change in schools in Lisbon and the Algarve, occupying the Faculty of Literature, the Faculty of Psychology and the Higher Technical Institute, the Dona Luisa de Gusmão High School in Lisbon and the Escola Secundária Tomás Cabreira in Faro.
