Ukraine shot down a Russian hypersonic missile with an American Patriot missile

According to Reuters, the Ukrainian Air Force said that the missile was shot down by the American Patriot air defense system.

“I congratulate the Ukrainian people on this historic event. Yes, we shot down the “incomparable” Kinzhal,” said Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Air Force.

Ukraine said the missile was launched during a drone strike on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities early Thursday morning.

It should be remembered that US Patriot missiles were delivered to Ukraine only last month and that they are part of the defense system provided by the West to help Ukraine in the war.
