The PSP of Coimbra detained a man suspected of domestic violence who had several doses of hashish seized from him and, in another situation, arrested a woman who tried to leave the house with drugs after an argument with her boyfriend.
On May 11, a 32-year-old man was arrested in the Loreto district of Coimbra, pursuant to an off-site arrest warrant issued by the judiciary, on suspicion of domestic violence, the command said on Monday. from PSP Coimbra.
A PSP press release said the arrest was the result of an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division (EIC) of that command.
“In the course of police procedures, searches were carried out at the place of residence and vehicle of the suspect, 2206 individual doses of hashish, precision scales, two mobile phones, 240 euros, five CO2 gas cylinders, a signal pistol, a copy of a firearm were found and seized”, 43 cartridge, “a retractable metal baton and a police badge,” the statement said.
After the first judicial interrogation, the man was subjected to coercive measures in the form of appearing at the police station at the place of residence four times a week, a ban on approaching the victim, which was checked by technical means of remote control, and preventing him from visiting places associated with drug consumption and trafficking.
On the same day, the PSP in Coimbra was called in connection with an incident involving a dispute between a married couple at their home in the Solum area.
Upon arrival, the investigators found that the 19-year-old girl intended to leave the house where she lived with her boyfriend, a 25-year-old man.
Faced with “a woman’s suspicious behavior while taking her belongings,” PSP ransacked the home, “discovering several products that, after verification, confirmed that they were 80 ecstasy tablets, hashish, corresponding to 22 individual doses. and cocaine equivalent to two doses.”
Given the facts, the young woman was detained, PSP reports.
The amount of 1,120 euros was also confiscated from the man, as he did not provide evidence of his origin.
The young woman was present at the first judicial interrogation, and coercive measures were applied to her in the form of three weeks of appearances at the police station at the place of residence, treatment and prohibition of contact with the suspect with whom she lived.
