‘I didn’t attack anyone’: Frederico Pinheiro denies accusations that he broke glass in the ministry and attacked colleagues Former deputy Joao Galamba is heard in the TAP parliamentary commission of inquiry. follow live

João Galamba’s former deputy, Frederico Pinheiro, is being heard before a TAP panel of inquiry this Wednesday over a preparatory meeting with the airline’s former executive president, Christine Urmier-Widener, ahead of the parliamentary economy panel hearing in January.

Frederico Pinheiro accused the infrastructure ministry of trying to hide the documents requested by the parliamentary commission of inquiry from TAP. Minister Joao Galamba denied the allegations. After Frederico Pineiro was rehabilitated, he turned to the Ministry of Infrastructure, attacked employees and stole a laptop. The Security Information Service (SIS) was eventually notified that this computer was recovered.

“I suspected it was a lie,” Federico Pinheiro says of the phone call from SIS.

The contact with SIS began after an email was sent to the Minister of Infrastructure and the Chief of Staff demanding the delivery of a computer and an official cell phone, Federico Pinheiro said.

“Then I get a call from an unknown number. This is a man who introduced himself as an SIS agent,” he says.

The agent called because of Federico Pinheiro’s computer and the information that is “out there”.

“I suspected that this was a lie. I suggest that the agent call the SIS and give the code word” [para confirmar que de facto era um agente do SIS]speaks.

The agent says he is “under a lot of pressure from above” and that “it’s best to solve this problem well,” says Federico Pinheiro.

The call lasts 13 minutes “because of all the doubts that I had,” he assures.

“It was decided that I would deliver the computer to my street. This ends the matter, ”concludes Frederico Pineiro.

André Ventura requests access to a medical report that Frederico Pinheiro says he received after claiming he “attacked him, not his attacker” and asks if the former assistant was physically threatened by Galamba, in phone call in which he was fired.

Frederico Pinheiro confirms this after talking with lawyer Joao Nabaiz, who is next to him.

Speaking of controversy on the day Federico Pinheiro went to the Ministry of Infrastructure, the former deputy responds to the first intervention by Andre Ventura of Chega’s party.

“What we heard today is just incredible,” begins Andre Ventura.

“I was attacked, not the aggressor. I have a medical report confirming this,” says Federico Pinheiro and guarantees that it was he who called the police “at 21:22”.

“My only intention was to leave the ministry and put this situation behind me. I released myself in self-defense for four people.”

Frederico Pineiro: “I don’t have secret documents […] I deleted all the copies I had”

“I don’t have any secret documents. […] I deleted all the copies I had,” says Federico Pinheiro.

“Never and never would I do anything that could harm TAP and Portugal,” he adds.

“In fact, I kept notes of all the meetings that I participated in on a computer, not on a mobile phone,” he assures.

“You can hardly think that I did not take notes at such an important meeting,” says Federico Pineiro.

Federico Pinheiro recounts the meetings on 16 and 17 January this year and recalls that on 11 January the office of the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs informed the ministry of Chega’s powerful request to hear the then TAP CEO on 13 January.

After agreeing on several emails on parliamentary issues, the meeting was scheduled for 17 January.

The day before, Joao Galamba met with the former CEO of TAP, which included the former deputy and legal director of TAP.

“As always, I participated with my computer and took notes on the main issues raised. I always had a computer on my desk, I have records of hundreds of meetings,” emphasizes the former deputy.
