Users, healthcare professionals and unions march in defense of social media today

Health workers, users and unions will take to the streets this Saturday in defense of the National Health Service (SNS), with promoters predicting a “strong commitment” to a march planned for Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra.

The initiative is being promoted by various trade union structures associated with the civil service and the health sector, as well as the Movement of Public Service Users (MUSP), who intend to involve the population in “protecting social networks, responding to healthcare and the rights and working conditions of its professionals.”

According to Sebastian Santana, Coordinator of the Federation of Public Workers Unions (FNSTFPS), the March for the Right to Health took part “in accordance with the importance of the SNS”, which means that it will register a “strong affiliation” of health workers, users and their representative movements. trade unions and even other organizations such as firefighters’ associations.

The union leader justified the initiative with “a very difficult framework for those who work in the social network” due to a lack of resources in hospitals and medical centers, warning that this public service, “if nothing is done, risks collapsing.” “.

Guaranteeing that the march has already received “the support of tens of institutions and thousands of people”, according to CGTP-IN, what is at stake is “the degradation of the social network and the public health response.”

The march should leave Campo Pequeno in Lisbon at 15:00, from the São João hospital in Porto also at 15:00 and from the Fernão de Magalhães medical center in Coimbra at 11:00.
