The PCP has been able to approve a budget proposal that guarantees funds for the Office of Labor Conditions (ACT) to educate companies about legislation that protects victims of domestic violence.
“The government guarantees the material and human resources and financial transfers necessary for the Labor Conditions Authority to inform employers and employees about legislation to protect workers who are victims of the crime of domestic violence,” establishes proposed amendments to the state budget for next year.
The proposal was voted point by point in the Budget and Finance Committee, in Parliament, with the SDP and the Liberal Initiative abstaining, while the rest of the parties voted in favor.
The second paragraph of the proposal was rejected and the PS voted against, while the same two parties abstained.
For the time being, the PKP intended to change the legal regime for domestic violence prevention, protection and assistance to victims and to define as a serious offense the violation of the rule that “an employer can only delay a transfer on the basis of mandatory requirements.” associated with the work of the company or service, or until a compatible work becomes available.
As for the shortcomings, the communists wanted them to be justified by the victim himself, by a criminal police authority, or by a certified victim support bureau.
The proposal of the PKP argues that the combination of this legal regime with the Labor Code “has led to the fact that in many situations the protection mechanism is not applied or strategies for combining two degrees are not found, in which employers do not actually contribute to the stability and protection of the victim.”
“Thus, in addition to disseminating existing legislation and overseeing its application, which is the responsibility of ACT, PCP believes that the harmonization of diplomas simplifies their application, which, of course, should be immediate in an emergency,” he also justifies.
