The health secretary this Wednesday challenged generic drug makers to produce smoking cessation drugs, saying if possible it would be a “good gift” for the National Health Service.
In his speech at the “Valor Estratégico da C” conference held in Lisbon, Manuel Pizarro stated that it would be important for some generic manufacturers to be able to sell “products used for smoking cessation” because some of them have already lost their patent and have the ability to produce generics.
On the sidelines of the conference, an official told Lusa that it “was very important to SNS” that generic drugs be included in the “line of smoking cessation drugs.”
