CMTV’s prime time news beat out the universal competitors from SIC and TVI.
Indeed, on Saturday Grande Jornal CMTV had an average audience of 6.1% with a share of 11.7%, much more than TVI’s “Jornal Nacional” which scored just 4.8% with a share of 10.3%, and “Jornal da SIC” SIC. Noite” with an average audience of 4.6% and a share of 9.8%. “Telejornal” RTP, which beat competitors from SIC and TVI, also lost to “Grande Jornal” CMTV, a program that ran for 1 hour and 40 minutes.
The three most watched programs on Portuguese television on Saturday were from CMTV. “Final Duel”, “Decisive Games” and “Second Half Goals” topped the Portuguese TV World Rankings.
In fourth place is RRP-1’s “Preço Certo”, which was the first program on the top not to be broadcast by CMTV, soon followed by “Primeiro Jornal” from SIC.
The top 10 includes two more CMTV programs: “Voice” – the first part, which occupies the sixth position, and “Big Magazine”, which occupies the eighth position.
On Saturday, CMTV had more prime-time viewers than the universal SIC, an unprecedented triumph in the history of Portuguese television.
Between 19:00 and 24:00, the period with the largest audience and advertising investment, CMTV’s share on Saturday was 11.2% versus SIC’s 7.9%. If we limit the analysis to the period from 20:00 to 24:00, the advantage of CMTV remains with a share of 8.9% versus 8.3% for the universal SIC.
The results shown are the responsibility of GFK.
CMTV is on channel 8 of all cable operators, but not yet on DTT.
