Joao Almeida is the first Portuguese cyclist to reach the last Giro podium.

João Almeida (UAE) this Sunday became the first Portuguese to reach the last podium of the Tour of Italy and the first national cyclist to finish in the top three on a major Tour since Joaquim Agostinho at the 1979 Tour.
