The European Commission will allocate two million euros to lease two aircraft to fight the fires in Portugal, Interior Minister José Luis Carneiro said on Monday in Vila Nova de Gaia.
“The European Commission is aware that it will increase investment in air transport and finance two air transport services for Portugal, worth around two million euros,” José Luis Carneiro said at the Avintes Parish Council on Monday. Gaia (Porto area).
On the sidelines of the signing of the inter-administrative agreement on the re-qualification of the Avintes GNR territorial mail, the official said that Brussels “left itself to support member states to enter the market and try to find air assets available on the market that are in short supply”, as well as pilots.
