On the long-distance route, 43 trains out of 58 planned were canceled, and on the regional route, out of 236 planned, 179 did not take place.
In the city of Lisbon, out of 465 planned, 328 were suppressed, and in Porto, out of about 199, 145 did not spread.
In the urban areas of Coimbra, 20 trains were removed from the 27 planned.
The strike was called by the Traveling Commercial Railroad Companies Union (SFRCI), which decided to keep the stop after meeting with the government on Tuesday, despite three other organizations canceling similar moves.
“We have been affected by the removal of proofreaders from the marches, we will lose our jobs, and in the distribution of additional allowances, we are discriminated against against other workers,” said Luis Bravo from SFRCI. , to Lusa, on Tuesday.
Referring to the state’s decision to grant a temporary 1% increase, Luis Bravo said that CP, due to “the urgency of an agreement with the machinists’ union,” ended up “swallowing up most of that budget,” leaving other workers “many injured.”

For his part, Bruno Martins, spokesman for CP, in written statements this Wednesday, Luse ensured that proofreaders’ jobs were “never at risk.”
“On the contrary, we are in the process of recruiting to grow our team, and there are 70 new vacancies open for reviewers,” he assured.
Bruno Martins also said that “all CP employees will receive an average transitional allowance of around 50 euros”, noting that “this means that in 2023 each employee will receive an average of around 140 euros”.
CP announced this Wednesday that it has reached an agreement to update its mid-term wages with most unions, with the exception of the SFRCI.
