This Wednesday, Parliament unanimously approved the trip of the President of the Republic to Palermo, Italy, from 26 to 27 June for an official visit to attend the XVI meeting of COTEC Europe.
This year’s meeting, which will take place on June 27, will be on the theme of “Innovation and Sustainable Financing” and will be attended by the heads of the three COTEC states – Portugal, Spain and Italy – and will be held at the Massimo Theater in Palermo, Sicily.
According to the initiative’s page, the three COTEC organizations and their partners will conduct “a high-profile analysis of the role of innovation in financing the transition to a sustainable industrial and economic model – climate adaptation, material efficiency, circularity – government policies and companies’ competitiveness.”
The COTEC Europe meetings are held annually in Spain, Italy and Portugal on a rotating basis and, according to the organization, “their main purpose is to provide the founders or associate representatives of the COTEC organizations in the three countries with the opportunity to reflect and dialogue on common issues and specific needs companies and economies of the three countries in the European context”.
The 15th meeting of this organization took place last May in Braga and had as its central theme “Culture at the Meeting of Innovations”.
In Portugal, COTEC (Association of Innovation Entrepreneurs) brings together multinational companies, large national groups and small and medium-sized enterprises in various fields of activity.
