A 47-year-old man died this Saturday in a motorcycle accident on the municipal road 1198 in Varzea das Andorinhas, in the municipality of Almodóvar (Beja), civil protection and GNR sources said.
A source from the Baixo Alentejo Sub-Regional Directorate of Emergency and Civil Protection told the Lusa news agency that the 39-year-old man was also seriously injured after a check and was taken to Beja hospital.
The same source indicated that the alarm was given at 2:03 am.
The rescue operations involved 21 operators assisted by nine vehicles, including an ambulance and resuscitation vehicle (VMER) from Beja and an emergency life support vehicle (IVS) from Castro Verde.
