The corpse of Maria, a 73-year-old woman, was found in the house where she lived, on Rua do Regil in Almada, with signs of death from the use of cold weapons. The daughter of a woman suspected of killing her mother was arrested this Saturday afternoon in the Branco neighborhood in Monte da Caparica.
The SP suspected that she might have gone there, but the arrest was made by a GNR patrol from Trafaria.
PSP official source confirmed cm that the alert was filed at 10:36 pm on Friday by friends who found the woman’s absence strange. PSP called firefighters, who broke down the door of the victim’s home. She was found inside already dead, with several signs of aggression with a knife.
The woman lived with her daughter Susanna, aged 48, diagnosed with schizophrenia.
The Setubal Judicial Police took over the investigation and the body of the 73-year-old woman was not taken to the mortuary of the García de Orta hospital until 2:30 am this Saturday.
Firefighters from Cacilhas and Almada were on site, in addition to PSP funds.
