The Judicial Police (PJ) of Setubal are investigating the veracity of a complaint filed by a 46-year-old woman early this Wednesday morning at a GNR post in Trafaria, Almada. The complainant claims that she was abducted by a 53-year-old man, a TVDE platform driver, who accepted her request for transportation between Costa de Caparica and Monte de Caparica in the municipality of Almada.
GNR official source confirmed cm that the woman says she got into the transport at 19:50 on Tuesday in the Costa de Caparica.
The trip to Monte da Caparica, where she requested, went smoothly. Only when the driver stopped the car did he lock the doors, preventing the customer from leaving.
The applicant submits that the abductor then set off on a journey of about four hours, which did not end until around midnight on Tuesday in Montijo. At the same time, the driver tried several times to put his hands under her clothes, trying to rape her.
The driver stopped outside a building in Montijo, where he said he would drag the victim inside. In a panic, the 46-year-old woman told GNR that she fled to a Lidl supermarket, where she turned to a security guard for help. The family member was contacted and it was not until 4 am that Wednesday that the complaint was filed with the GNR.
The woman did not need medical attention.
Through the registration of the car, it was possible to identify the driver and confirm that he works as a TVDE driver.
Since it was a crime of kidnapping, the investigation was referred to the Trial Chamber of Setúbal.
