Miguel Oliveira in 19th place in the sprint race in the Netherlands

Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (April) finished 19th this Saturday in the Dutch MotoGP Grand Prix sprint race, the eighth race of the season, won by Italy’s Marco Besecchi (Ducati).

The Portuguese rider, who started 11th on the grid, finished 24.269 seconds back from the winner, Italy’s Francesco Bagna (Ducati) finished second with 1.294 seconds and France’s Fabio Quartaro (Yamaha) finished third with 1.872 seconds. . , after a three-second penalty for breaking the rules of the track, South African Brad Binder (KTM) dropped from third to fifth place.

Miguel Oliveira reached the second stage of qualifying (Q2), finishing second in Q1, behind only France’s Johann Zarco (Ducati).

In the second quarter, Oliveira was 11th, 0.702 seconds behind Bezzeki, who set a new record at Assen.

In today’s sprint race, Bezzecki had a poor start and ended up in third place behind Francesco Bagnai and Brad Binder.

Miguel Oliveira finished sixth on the first lap, but was touched by other competitors early in the second of 13 scheduled laps, dropping him to 23rd and last.

The Portuguese pilot managed to win back four positions, up to the 19th final position.

In the meantime, Bezekki regained first position on lap four, overtaking Banaya’s “Pekko” to keep from losing control again.

With these results, Banaya, the title champion, maintains his lead in the championship, now scoring 169 points to 148 from Spaniard Jorge Martin (Ducati), who was sixth.

Miguel Oliveira is in 16th place with 27 points.

Sunday is the main race of the Dutch Grand Prix.
