Spanish rider Marc Marquez (Honda) withdrew from the Dutch Grand Prix, the eighth race of the MotoGP World Championship, this Sunday due to injuries sustained at the previous race in Germany.
In a statement, the Repsol Honda team announced this morning that Marc Marquez has withdrawn from the Dutch Grand Prix, the main race of which will take place this afternoon, after being declared “unfit” by the championship doctors.
We are talking about a broken left thumb and, above all, a broken rib, which he received after a hard fall during the “warm-up” of the German Grand Prix last week.
It was only one of five accidents that occurred in that race with the participation of the Spanish rider.
At the Dutch Grand Prix this weekend, Marquez was only 17th in the sprint race on Saturday.
