The Lisbon Municipal Assembly recommends applying a 5% discount on parking fees

On Tuesday, the Lisbon Municipal Assembly approved a recommendation to the council to introduce a 5% discount for parking fees on public roads when payments are made electronically, regardless of the application used.

The Liberal Initiative (IL) municipal group’s recommendation to apply a reduction in parking fees on public roads was made possible by votes against PCP, PAN and PPM, abstentions by BE and Livre, and votes in favor of PEV, PS, PSD, IL, Aliança , MPT, CDS-PP and Chega.

The General Rules for Parking and Stopping on Public Roads (CPRPP) provide for a “5% discount on the rate for payments made by electronic means,” IL said, indicating that the measure was approved in December 2020, but “never applied.” implemented.”

As a result of the report of the 2nd Permanent Commission for Economy, Innovation and Tourism of the Municipal Assembly of Lisbon on the HUB Criativo do Beato, the deputies sent to the council a number of recommendations, in which the majority was unanimously approved, namely to “create conditions for the development of cultural life that captures and attracts new investors, entrepreneurs and residents”, as well as to develop a museological strategy to showcase and preserve existing elements of industrial archeology.

Another recommendation is to “concrete the LIOS Oriental, the light-paved metro line that will connect Beato with Santa Apolonia and Parque das Naços, as soon as possible.”

With a vote against IL and votes for other MPs, the assembly recommended that the House take care of “probably starting a process of gentrification by investing in buildings and in the economic and human fabric – for the benefit of society.” interest — “and contribute to the restoration of built heritage through public and private initiatives, ensuring the sustainability of access to housing, namely the preservation of housing at affordable rents.

At the suggestion of the PAN, the deputies unanimously decided to recommend to the municipal executive the establishment of a response to the protection of horses in the city of Lisbon, namely to strengthen the inspection activities in relation to their owners.

The idea of ​​creating a special municipal equestrian center for the collection of confiscated horses with boxes or open stables in a suitable place for this purpose in the Florestal de Monsanto park was made possible by the votes against IL, CDS. -PP and Chega abstaining from PSD, PCP and PEV and voting for BE, PS, Livre, PAN, MPT, PPM and Aliança.

The meeting unanimously decided on the proposal of the CDS-PP to ask the government through the Ministry of Health that the Lisbon Department of Alcoholism, closed in March 2020, “be reopened to the fullest extent of its powers.” as the hospitalization service remains unavailable.
