A building was evacuated this Wednesday after a fire broke out in a house on the sixth floor in Queluz, Sintra. A resident of the house where the fire started suffered minor injuries from smoke poisoning and was taken to Amadora Sintra Hospital.
The incident was reported at 7:14 am. The fire started in the kitchen of the house, which remained uninhabitable. The PSP ordered the building to be evacuated for security reasons.
By 9:00 a.m., firefighters brought the fire under control, and within half an hour, residents were able to return to the building. Twenty-six firefighters and policemen were on the scene, supported by seven vehicles.
The police were called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
