The finalists of the 2nd edition of the Martha Louro Scholarship have already been selected, the main goal of which is to perpetuate the memory of a journalist from CMTV who died in the service on April 27, 2022 and every year selects a young man for a paid internship in the channel’s news department.
This year again there was a huge number of participants from all regions of the country, as emphasized by Carlos Rodriguez, CEO of the editorial cm And CMTV: “It’s good to see that there are many young people from the hinterland.” Young people like Bruna Cardoso, who won last year, “and today is a journalist whom television viewers CMTV they are already used to it and that it will continue with us,” added the person in charge.
This Thursday, the jury, consisting of the parents of Marta Louro and the editors of Cofina, met again to evaluate the entries. The winner will be entitled to a 12-month internship in Lisbon or in one of the delegations CM/CMTV. The amount of the monthly allowance is added to the subsidy for food and transportation. At the end of the internship, there may also be an award for excellence in an amount to be determined, and a work contract if the grade is “excellent”.
For Pedro Louro, paying tribute to his daughter means achieving all the goals he has set for himself. “We are grateful for this new edition of the scholarship and are delighted to have met Bruna, who, along with her colleagues, continued the work of Martha in the newsroom, and for the drive and desire to bring information to the Portuguese.” Bruna Cardoso, the 2022 junior winner, admits it was an “honor” imbued with “a huge sense of responsibility”.
