Starting this Saturday, six shipping lines heading to the beaches on the south coast of the Tagus, which will be available this swimming season, will also start operating until August 31, as part of Carris Metropolitana’s goal of positioning itself as “a real and reliable alternative in terms of urban mobility.”
According to TML, “direct connections are available between the municipalities of Odivelas, Vila Franca de Xira and Loures and the beaches of the Costa da Caparica” via lines 2650 Cidade Nova – Costa da Caparica, 2651 Buselas – Costa da Caparica, 2652 Costa da Caparica – Forte da Casa and 2850 Costa da Caparica – Povoa de Santo Adriao.

Regarding traffic intensification in area 4, in the municipalities of Alcochete, Moita, Montijo, Palmela and Setúbal, Carris Metropolitana highlights the schedule of line 4600 Alcochete (Freeport) – Barreiro (Terminal), which will be strengthened to “match the increase in search”.
In the direction of Alcochete – Barreiro, line 4600 will have more services at 22:30 and 23:30, every day of the year, times from 16:30 and 17:30 will also operate on weekends and times from 22:10 to 22:00 will adjusted, from 23:10 to 23:00 and from 24:10 to 24:00.
In the direction of Barreiro – Alcochete “every day of the year the schedules of 18:00, 19:00, 20:30, 21:00, 22:00 and 22:30” will be carried out.
Carris Metropolitana now has new lines in District 3, in the municipalities of Almada, Seixal and Sesimbra, namely line 3625 Barreiro – Sesimbra with a stop at Brejos de Azeitan, which will operate all year round.
Other new lines are line 3542 between Coina station and Praia do Meco, which will operate from July 1 to August 31 from 8:00 to 19:30 with stops at Lagoa de Albufeira and Alfarim beaches, and line 3223 Sampaio (Moagem). The beach in Sesimbra with stops at the Sesimbra terminal and at Avenida Sergio Vieira de Mello, which aims to “reduce the heavy traffic that restricts traffic in the village”, runs from 8:00 to 20:00 and will be free of charge at the initiative of the municipality, but travel document verification is still required.
In addition, on July 10, Carris Metropolitana will launch “a new circular line in the municipality of Almada,” TML said, providing more information shortly.
Carris Metropolitana is an initiative of 18 AML municipalities through the TML public company. All public transport timetables and routes can be found on the “website”: carrismetropolitana.pt.
