BE and Livre want to decriminalize cannabis

On Tuesday, Block and Livre defended the decriminalization of cannabis as part of the discussion of the PS and PSD bills to decriminalize the possession of new psychoactive substances (NSPs), known as synthetic drugs, whose consumption particularly affects the autonomous regions of Madeira. and the Azores, as PSD’s Sara Madruga da Costa recalled.

Pedro Filipe Soares of BE believes that consumption should not be prosecuted and according to him “even Andre Ventura, who admitted he had already tried it, was not prosecuted” but Chega is against changing the law. PS’s Claudia Santos, as well as IL and PCP, also advocated that consumption should not be punished. “Someone who was found to have 15 doses because he lives in the interior of the country and comes to the city to buy cheaper ones should not be considered a drug dealer. And a dealer caught with less than ten doses is treated as a consumer,” he said, to explain why PS wants to drop the drug quantity criterion as decisive in distinguishing a consumer from a dealer.
