According to a PS source, former health minister Marta Temido was elected president of the PS Lisbon Political Commission with 99% of the valid votes.
The interim electoral act for the elections to the Municipal Political Commission PS Lisboa took place on Friday afternoon when a single list competed under the “slogan” “The Lisbon we want”.
“The turnout in the elections was 39.5%, while the list headed by Marta Temido received 99% of the votes,” he explained.
When asked by journalists about the possibility of being a Socialist candidate for the presidency of the Lisbon City Council in the next municipal elections in 2025, she replied: “Just as I was available for this job in the municipality, I will be available if the Socialist Party needs me, but now is not the moment.
In the September 2021 municipal elections, the Social Democrat Carlos Moedas was elected Mayor of the Lisbon City Council by the Novos Tempos (PSD/CDS-PP/MPT/PPM/Aliança) coalition, removing the autarky from the PS, which led the capital’s executive branch for 14 years.
“The Lisbon we want is committed to a fairer city for all, while defining territory and promoting global sustainability,” said Marta Temido, criticizing the current PSD/CDS-PP leadership, which rules without an absolute majority, for urban hygiene, which is “work worse” and “chaotic” mobility in the city.
Marta Temido was number two on Lisbon’s socialist council, taking over as president until the election.
