The Prison Guards Union is sending members a draft disclaimer of responsibility for incidents that occur during their work shifts in national prisons. The document that cm had access, addressed to the director general of the prison service, Rui Abruños Gonçalves.
The union accuses the government of inertia towards prisons, which contributes to the constant reduction of human resources, as well as the fact that the situation in prisons is explosive. Thus, and in view of what it considers “burnout” (exhaustion) of employees, the leadership of the Union of Managers believes that “bosses cannot be held responsible for what goes wrong during work.”
