Former Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has been sentenced by the Italian Federal National Court to a 16-month suspension from football as part of an investigation into violations of club player payments, the club said in a statement. Italian Football Federation, Reuters quotes.
The former Vecchia Signora leader was also fined 60,000 euros.
Agnelli was one of the supporters of the European Super League project in 2021. He managed Juventus from 2010 to 2022 when he stepped down along with other board members last November following a financial scandal that hit the Italian club.
As part of the same process, Juventus agreed in May to pay a €718,000 fine and accept a 10-point penalty for the 2022/23 Italian Football Championship.
