The Lisbon PSP this Saturday detained five people during a police operation in nightclubs in the city center for possession of drugs and knives, driving without a license and domestic violence.
The PSP Lisbon Metropolitan Command said in a statement that as part of this Special Crime Prevention Operation, which took place from 1:30 to 5:30 in the entertainment district of the city center, in particular in Bairro Alto, several people and a knife, a balaclava, a speaker were seized , screwdriver and various types of drugs.
Several commercial organizations were also checked: 3 protocols on administrative offenses were drawn up due to the fact that the original sheet of the complaint book was not sent to the Food and Economic Security Department (ASEB), one protocol on an administrative offense due to the presence of a duplicate of the complaints log was not delivered to the user and three recordings for music work after 11 p.m. with open doors.
The operation was carried out under the coordination of the 1st Police Department and with the support of various units of the PSP, namely the Rapid Response Teams, the Prevention and Immediate Response Teams, the Criminal Investigation Teams and the Special Police Unit, through the Intervention Corps teams. .
According to the PSP, “policing activities have been strengthened in the city center to prevent and detect crimes, especially those committed with the use of prohibited weapons, in places of night recreation”, with the aim of “strengthening the safety record of citizens in general and users of nightclubs in the center of Lisbon, in particular”.
