This Monday, the PCP accused the government of lack of sensitivity for conducting an ISP review that nullified the fuel price cut, but felt there was “still time” for the executive branch to reverse the decision.
“The government should have been sensitive and avoided raising fuel prices,” Communist parliament leader Paula Santos said in a statement sent to the media.
Paula Santos believed that there was “still time for the socialist executive to intervene and stop” the rise in prices, although she defended that it was necessary to go beyond “intervention in the financial plan”.
From the communist point of view, it is necessary to set maximum fuel prices and “turn to face the economic groups.”
“Galp has earned more than 600 million euros. […]while the workers and the people are getting poorer,” added the deputy and member of the PKP Political Commission.
The government has carried out a fiscal review of the tax on petroleum products (NNP). As a result, fuel prices rose, plus 1.5 cents for diesel and almost two cents for gasoline.
