According to a notice published this Thursday in Diário da República, the Commission for Recruitment and Selection for Public Administration (CReSAP) will repeat the competition for the position of Director General of Health.
In a text released this Thursday, CReSAP announces the resumption of the introductory notice “within ten business days of posting on its website” of the recruitment and selection competition for the position of CEO of Health.
The initial notice of the opening of the competition was published in Diário da República in early June, a few days after the resignation of the then Deputy Director General of Health, Rui Portugal, who replaced the Director General of Health during the holidays, and six months after Graça Freitas publicly announced her intention to retire.
Despite the fact that Graça Freitas announced in December her intention not to remain in this position, the Ministry of Health sent a request to CReSAP to open an open tender only at the beginning of May.
A few days after Rui Portugal resigned, Public Health Doctor Andre Peralta Santos was named Deputy Director General of Health on an interim basis.
In an interview with Público newspaper in February, Rui Portugal expressed his willingness to apply to CReeSAP.
“I have a curriculum, local, regional, national and international experience that allows me (…) I think I can make a very significant contribution both to the speech and to the agenda,” he said.
Lusa asked CReSAP about the reasons for repeating the tender, but never received a response.
