The Council of Ministers approved this Friday a decree-law establishing a special mechanism for accelerating the promotion of civil servants, allowing them to move ahead with six points instead of 10 already in 2024.
“The Council of Ministers approved a decree-law establishing a special regime to accelerate the career development of civil servants,” said Minister of Administration Mariana Vieira da Silva.
This is a mechanism that provides that workers with 18 or more years of service who were covered by the freeze periods that took place between 2005 and 2007 and 2011 and 2017 receive six points in the assessment (compared to the 10 years currently required).
This point reduction only applies once per worker from 2024, covering 349,000 workers, according to data provided by the government when the offer was announced.
