Lewis Hamilton took pole position at the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix this Saturday, setting the best qualifying lap in 1:16.609 minutes.
The British driver thus achieves the 104th pole position of his career and the first since 2021. While in Saudi Arabia, he won the Grand Prix and set the fastest lap of the race.
At the Hungarian Grand Prix this Sunday at 14:00, Max Verstappen (1:16.612) starts in 2nd position and Lando Norris (1:16.694) starts in 3rd. Piastri and Zhou round out the top 5.
“I am grateful for being there. The team worked really hard on it,” said Hamilton after qualifying.
This session, it should be noted, was “novelty”. The riders had to use hard tires in the first quarter, medium tires in the second and soft tires in the third quarter.
